Butter Cookies

This recipe originally came on a recipe card as part of Taako’s Correspondence School of Wizardy, Cantrips & Other Magicks, which claims the recipe to be from Taako’s Super Secret Recipes vol. I. As with most recipes I’ve gathered, I’ve modified this one slightly to fit my tastes and baking style.

  1. Blend the butter, dates, eggs, almond milk, and almond extract until they form a smooth paste.
  2. Gradually blend the date mixture into the flour and salt.
  3. Cover the cookie dough and chill in the refridgerator for at least 1 hour.
  4. Once ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C).
  5. Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface until ⅛ inch thick.
  6. Cut the dough into fun shapes using cookie cutters.
  7. Transfer the cookies onto a cookie sheet
  8. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Let the cookies cool after taking them out of the oven, and then decorate as desired.
